There were dogs a plenty at the Fun Dog Show at our kennels on Sunday; from the very large to the very small. Dogs and owners alike seemed to be having a lot of fun particularly when it came to dancing dogs, fancy dress and super fast sausage eaters. Despite the odd rain shower, the dogs still put on their best show and a good time was had by all. The Trustees at Forest Dog Rescue would like to extend a massive thank you to Posh Pawsss Grooming Salon who made the day possible and worked extremely hard both before and during the day. We would also like to thank the other sponsors; Harlow Timber and Mad DJ Dave. We would also like to thank the stall holders, volunteers as well as everyone who came along to support the event. Thank you all who shared their time with us today, once again it was lovely to see old and yet again make new friends to FDR, some who hopefully will be sharing their successful stories with us on our website. From all at FDR, thank you all for your continued support.
24th July 2011
Superb weather to enhance a superb day spent at St Michael's Fete in Tenbury Wells on Sunday. We had a really lovely day with lots of fun with the Dog Show, and a tombola. There was so much going on; gorgeous cakes being sold, hot and cold drinks available along with a pig roast, bric a brac stalls, raffles, beautiful hats, a band playing away in the background and much more in the most beautiful grounds full of colour.
To close the already perfect day, we were also entertained with some great comedy on stage from some very courageous entertainers, including our own Phil Baxter - well done Phil! Again there was a fantastic turn out and we raised over £300 from our generous visitors, thank you all so much for such a perfect day.
23rd July 2011
Absolutely fabulous day at Kidderminster Fire Station for the car wash event involving two very deserving charities; Forest Dog Rescue & The Firefighters Charity, with your help we raised £292.20
for each charity plus an extra £124
to Forest Dog which was given separately from the firefighters cook, Carole!
On behalf of both charities we would like to express a huge thank you to all who shared their day with us plus have their car washed of course, including Dave who came along to have his electronic cycle washed, what an experience that was - super bike Dave!
Many thanks also to the Firefighters for supplying all the necessary equipment & in particular the very tasty refreshments too, we were spoilt so much we'll have to go back for more! It was very busy most of the time & the day went really well with plenty of fun & laughter all round.
Special thanks to Alfie, Summer, Mollie & their owners, the volunteers & staff from both charities & especially to those who still came along even though it was their day off, these events are only made possible because of your kindness, again thank you all so much.

The other half of the proceeds taken that day went to Kemp Hospice. The event was also held in memory of her late son, Gerald. You can see some of the pictures taken of her garden on our Facebook page.
11th July 2011Well the sun shone again for the Stourport Steam Rally over the weekend. Forest Dog Rescue had a prime position for our stall along the ringside so not only were we able to raise almost £280 for the charity , we could also take in some of the entertainment. We ran our usual tombola which proved ever popular with kids and adults alike. We also sold a range of doggie goods from collars and toys to doggie treat hampers so even the dogs were happy.
4th July 2011We had a great turnout for our car boot sale at Green Gap Kennels on Sunday - lots of booters selling a wide variety of goods as well as lots of people looking for a bargain. Our new refreshments hut also proved popular offering bacon butties and cups of tea which were enjoyed by both booters and buyers who sat out overlooking the beautiful Worcestershire countryside and soaking up the sunshine. 14th June 2011
After a slow start and one or two showers we finally got going at the Bewdley Carnival and everyone had a terrific day, sharing stories of dogs from the past and present. The tombola had a couple of new recruits, Donna and Jolie, and along with Cynthia they tempted the crowds into having a go, always with such wonderful smiles. Well done girls!
Alfie and Jack behaved impeccably and enjoyed lots of fuss and attention, looks like Alfie was getting a reading lesson from Bob at one point! Dorothy did us proud with her very popular Lucky Dips and cakes from Joan were enjoyed by many who kept coming back for more!
These days would not be as successful or enjoyed as much without the support of the many volunteers who give their time freely and also to a very generous public who continue to contribute to help raise much needed funds which all goes to helping the dogs who come into our care.
In total we raised £140 so once again many, many thanks from all at Forest Dog Rescue.

Charity shoprefitted thanks to local students
Our charity shop in Kidderminster has had a makeover thanks to the hard work of three local design students. As part of a project on a 3D Design course at NEW College in Bromsgrove, these budding designers kindly offered their time and talent to design, build and install a new point-of-sale display unit for our shop.
“The new unit has dramatically transformed our shop and provides us with a stylish way to display donated merchandise” says Forest Dog Rescue Shop Manager, Rachel Newey. “We are extremely grateful to them. Our charity shop is an important income generator and we are sure that we can now make the shopping experience for our customers much more enjoyable.”
If anyone has any quality items such as clothing, bric-a-brac, CDs and DVDs, books and games then please drop them into the charity shop in Oxford Street, Kidderminster.
