September Newsletter 2013

    September Newsletter 2013

Hello everyone! :) Before we get started on September's Newsletter, we must catch up with latter part of the August Newsletter which was written early because a certain someone was dragged off to sea sun and sand before the end of the month!
So moving on... the Far Forest Society Horticultural Show/Fun Dog Show -what an amazing day! Fabulous turnout, so many people and so many interesting and entertaining things going on all day long, glorious weather, such an array of captivating stalls, scrumptious food to be enjoyed by all with barbecued delights, fish and chips, bacon baps, pork roast butties, cakes etc and over a hundred entries in the Fun DogShow!

Next - FDR’s “Summer Fete”so many people, so much to do and the weather was flippin gorgeous!  They were two of the most unforgettable fundraising days ever and with everyone’s hard work, kindness and patience, it allows FDR’s dream to flourish even more so allowing us to continue to help those who can’t help themselves; thank you to all for your devotion and hard work, we truly couldn’t do it without you. x

“I’m sorry but we do have to start September's Newsletter with sad news, we said our final goodnight to little Bonnie on the 28 September, thank you Joan for giving this lovely old girl 19 months of total love and devotion.  Sleep tight little one. X”

Deep breath and away we go with September, so much to mention so will try to keep it brief...21 lucky dogs embarked (sorry about the pun) on to a new life with their new families this month, Sandy, Ralph, Blossom, Marco, Jack, Mike, Polo, Ted, Sally, Misty, Lucky, Freddie, Dinky, Ezme, Teddy and Samson, another incredible month for re-homing!

Thanks to all who have opened their hearts to such wonderful animals -your reward will be a smile every day, a loyal companion plus an unquestionable loving friendship for the rest of his or her life, well done, thank you and enjoy!

Both Boating Festival’s in the Black-country were new to us and were very enjoyable, so much so we’re already booked for next year!  Yeah!

Improvements at the kennels are as follows; The play area’s  have been split into three, one larger area for play and two smaller just for chillin, fresh air and dog watching, here’s Baggie and Bandit keeping each other company on the outside, fabulous!

New lighting has been added to the kennels in and around making all so much brighter and cheerful with the darker nights approaching (never mind, it’sthe shortest day 21st December! not so bad when you think of it like that is it :)!

Many thanks to Elizabeth (Cooke) who has kindly donated the two friends who have joined us in the “Memorial Garden” Nico and Hugo, standing on guard day and night, admired by many Elizabeth, thank you so very much x

Thank you for joining us once again and as always thank you so much for your continued support, see you again next month, til then keep well and stay safe, bye for now x
