Last Sunday (22nd March) we were invited along to the Drakelow Tunnels Open Day, we met some of the volunteers who are involved with the renovation of the Drakelow Tunnels Nuclear Bunker complex near Kidderminster.
We received an email inviting us along as these lovely people wanted to raise money for FDR's charity on their Open Day.
They kindly give any profits they make after they have taken off what they need for the tunnels to their chosen charity, which was a wonderful£200.00!
Along with the donations too from their generous visitors, FDR received a grand total of £290!
We also enjoyed time with the visitors and offered more information when asked which was very encouraging for us as a charity.
Drakelow Tunnels is an amazing place to visit if you haven't already, (stories of ghosts too!).
We believe it was a complete sell out which speaks for itself and is full credit to all it's dedicated hardworking volunteers.
To Mike, Sid and all who made our day with you so special, please accept our heartfelt thanks from all here at FDR for your kindness and for being so helpful too, we don't get that kind of treatment every day! lol
Hoping to visit again and this time to see the tour, really looking forward it.- thank you all and good luck with the future of the Drakelow Tunnels
Please visit their website and facebook for more information on the tunnels and future events - enjoy
