Reggie

Reggie has come into our care through no fault of his own and is now looking for a fresh start with a family who'll give him all the love, exercise and attention he deserves.

If there's one thing we've learnt about Reggie, it's that he absolutely adores people. He's a real softie who thrives on affection and simply loves being around his humans.

Reggie enjoys getting out and about and is always ready for a walk. He can be strong on the lead, but we've found that wearing a Gencon makes a huge difference and he walks beautifully with one. He already knows a few basic commands, although we'd love to see his new family continue his training and teach him even more—he's a clever lad who just needs someone willing to put the time into him.

Since being with us, Reggie has enjoyed walking alongside lots of different dogs and has been friendly with every one he's met. Face-to-face greetings, however, are a little too exciting for him! His enthusiasm sometimes gets the better of him and his idea of saying hello is paws all over the shop and jumping on the other dog's head! With some guidance and continued socialisation, we're sure he'll soon learn that good manners and be able to make some dog friends.

When Reggie gets into the playpen toys don't interest him all that much—he'd much rather charge around at full speed, enjoying the freedom to run. His long legs don't always seem to know what they're doing though, so watching him zoom around is a bit like watching Bambi on ice, with legs flying in every direction!

We've been told that Reggie travels well in the car, although he'll need to be safely restrained because he quite fancies helping with the driving if given the chance! He's not destructive in the home, enjoys meeting visitors, and is happy around new people coming and going.

Reggie has met visiting children aged five and over, but because he gets so excited, jumps up and has very little awareness of his own size, we feel he'd be best suited to a home with older children or an adult-only household. He was house-trained but due to circumstances not his fault he began loosing it before coming into us so he may need a little reminder of his toilet routine while he settles in to his new home.

Reggie is looking for an active family who can give him plenty of walks, enrichment and opportunities to explore. Ideally, he'd like someone around for much of the day, as he loves company and being involved in family life.
