Luke has come into us from another charity with his friend Aries in June, alike him Luke too was incredibly nervous and fearful of everything and everyone taking until now to finally be ready to make the next step in his confidence progress.. a new home!
It took a while for us to build bonds with him for him to be comfortable with us without running away and even more so to finally get a lead on to go for a walk but with the help of very committed staff and Aries coming along too we have got there!
We did manage to find Luke a home however he was returned to us after a week due to his anxieties especially when left on his own, so he will need a home where someone is around alot to begin with to give him time to settle in, decompress, learn that home is a place of security and work with him gradually to be left.
Luke though still cautious, especially of new things or people, is doing really well, he is going out on proper walks, starting to have a proper sniff and enjoy his time out. He's still not quite sure what the hype is all about with the playpen or going off lead but we are sure in time with his own garden he will find a love of running round and zoomies.
Once Luke knows and trusts you he is your friend for life, he has made some great relationships here and is starting to go out with some volunteers which is great progress. When meeting new people he approaches a bit sheepishly, takes a few minutes then is happy to have fuss and walk with them.
We do know Luke will need lots of confidence and work going forwards, he may not be the easiest to begin with but hopefully with an experienced owner he will make even further progress then he has here.
Though we mention Aries and he came together and helped each other out they are in no way a bonded pair and will be seeking separate homes as their nerves don't complement the others anxieties.
