Our sweet boy Mason has been in the wars - he’s had to have his right eye removed, bless him!!!
Mason came into us a few weeks ago and it was evident something was up with his eye as it wasn’t opening as it should & he didn’t seem aware of anything on that side of him bumping into things.
We got him up to the vets as soon as we could, they said that it was likely previous trauma, it had been that for a while and there was no vision in the eye. It was advised that the best scenario would be removal to ensure he is pain free and prevent future infections, not to mention and further trauma to the eye should he knock it.
So he was started on pain relief and booked in for removal as soon as we could.
Thankfully the procedure was a success and other than panicking with the cone of shame on causing the wound to bleed (thankfully he was still at the vets so checked over and all to be expected with the wound draining) but we won’t share those photos!
Since his op he has been happier than ever! Still his inoffensive, sweet & lovely self but he has a spring in his step and his tail never stops wagging
Mason really is such a gorgeous boy, his coat is super soft, he loves being fussed and the only thing in the whole world he wants is a human of his own to spend as much time and cuddles as he possibly can.
On the lead he walks beautifully never really pulling too far from your side, he completely ignores other dogs just enjoying his walk though he doesn't enjoy dogs rudely running up to his face (definitely has his personal space bubble) and will tell them off, he is best being an only dog so he can get all of the TLC and love all to himself!
All of the vets fell in love with him and so have we not to mention our volunteer walkers - whoever takes him home will be a very lucky person!!
