Big boy Bongo is now ready to find himself a new and forever home after being picked up as a stray then taken to a stray pound, thankfully we had a kennel big enough for him otherwise he would have been PTS 🙁

As Bongo was a stray we have no previous history on him but since arriving with us he has been the happiest boy who loves everyone he meets!

When he first arrived we noticed something was amiss with his eyes as he was squinting a lot just not seeming comfortable so we got him on some pain relief then up to the vet as soon as we could. The vets initially diagnosed him with an ulcer so was given drops to be administered twice daily, unfortunately when he went in for his castration it was found he needed entropion surgery on both eyes which was performed at the same time and was a success.

Bongo is now in the cone of shame to protect his eyes till they heal, thankfully he's not bothered by it - the staff on the otherhand might be when he uses it as a battering ram up the backs of their legs - he finds it hilarious!

Due to Bongo's surgery we haven't been able to properly dog test him off lead with any others but he has walked round tail wagging with dog friends he has made here, we would suggest him better being the only dog but he may be able to live with another provided temperaments suit.

We will be looking for an active home as he loves his walks and being only 2 he has a fair amount of energy, so plenty of adventures needed! We will also be looking for a home to take him along to some training classes as his basic commands are a bit hit and miss but also his lead work does have a lot to be desired, we did start working with him but since his op we have had to use a harness on him to ensure nothing catches his eyes. Hopefully once healed we can introduce him to a head collar... or even better he might have found a home by then!!

Bongo is certain to bring comedic value to your home, not to mention a loving and loyal companion, he has a heart of gold he just needs an owner to continue with his training!
