Ideal Home

Joey was originally rescued from an abusive situation and taken to safety where he has been happily living for the last 10  months however due to increasing workload and juggling two dogs he is no longer getting the time and everything he needs so is sadly looking for a new home.

Joey has been up to our kennels for his assessment and flew through it with A*'s all round! At the moment Joey is still in his home and the hope is that we can find him a home before he has to come into kennels - so fingers crossed for him!!

We have been told that Joey is pretty chilled in the home, is crate trained, no problems being left on his own, currently living with another dog and he loves his toys.

Joey will be looking for a low-moderate activity level home, he does love his walks and will need regular walking but he isn't one to be tackling Snowdonia of a weekend.. he'd much prefer a pootle around the flatter more relaxed terrain of the Wyre forest.

His owners have said an ideal home for him would be one where he can get some training, predominantly his recall as he is 50/50 on deciding to come back. They have also said he isn't a dog that needs masses of space in the home and he's quite a chilled out pooch.

Although he has been around children in his current home from age 8+ it may be best suited for him to go with older or no children, sadly he does have some lasting effects of his past mainly with brooms/sticks/similar ... bless him he will run and hide, he also gets scared of loud/sudden noises 🙁

As Joey is not yet castrated due to age/breed he will not be able to be rehomed where there are any entire female dogs. Joey does get on with other dogs, he lives with a male spaniel and he said hello to many of our other dogs nicely with tail wagging whilst he was here however his owner said he does struggle with small yappy dogs who bark at him.

When Joey was here although he was scared of the loud noises we found him to be an utter delight with a lovely temperament, we do think he would make an amazing pup for someone!!!
