Due to family medical issues, Ava is looking for her new forever home (through absolutely no fault of her own). She is a sweet and loving female Shepherd mix, approx. 2 years old. Her favourite things are playing and belly rubs. She loves playing ball and shredding stuffies. Her belly is her weak spot... start rubbing her belly and she instantly stops doing anything and just melts into bliss.

Ava was formerly known as Ginger whilst she was with us and has been happily living with her family and will hopefully continue to do so until a new home is found to avoid her having to come back into kennels.

She loves people and other dogs. She has shown no signs of any aggression or guarding. So if you're looking for a guard dog, she is not it! She is more likely to flop down and demand belly rubs than to offer protection 😅

She can be both a gentle player and a wrestler. She adjusts her play style to who ever she is playing with. She can be mouthy when playing, she does not bite or leave marks, it's just play with her. She can also get vocal with grunts when she is really into the play!

Ava would do well in home with another friendly dog to play with as she has lots of energy and is currently living with another dog. We would not recommend young children as she is likely to knock them over (she can get bouncy when excited). She is both independent and needy (she will happily play by herself but will also follow you around). If she wants to play ball, she will bring it to you and throw it at you lol

Ava is crate trained. She sleeps in an extra large kennel without any issues. We tried to leave her and our other dog out over night but she was restless and pestered him to play most of the night 😅 In her kennel though, she sleeps soundly through the night.

She knows her basic commands: sit, wait, lay down, bed, shake paw, and come (although this one, she can be selective and pretend she doesn't hear you!). She is good on a lead and loves walks.

Ava really is a wonderful girl. She needs an active family who will give her all the love and attention she deserves
