Courtney has recently arrived into our care as a stray, so sadly we have no background history for her. What we do know already is that she’s a bright, friendly, people-loving girl with a big personality and plenty of enthusiasm for life.

Courtney is extremely friendly and loves meeting new people though she can sometimes forget her manners and jump up say hello so she will need to learn some manners so she doesn't flatten everyone she meets.

In the playpen she does seem to have good recall and will come back when called, however if she spots or hears someone she knows, she may try to make a beeline for them. Because of this she will need secure fencing in her new home. We have found that she isn’t particularly toy-driven, though she does enjoy a good game of tuggy and will occasionally join in with a game of ball when the mood takes her.

On the lead, Courtney walks pretty well certainly not one to pull your arm off but she hasn’t quite mastered loose lead walking yet so this will need a bit of work. She will be a great candidate for  training classes where she can continue to work on her lead walking, manners and obedience - she can and will 'sit' but it doesn't last for very long before her bum starts wiggling and she is back up.

We have found her to be great with other dogs, she has met plenty since being her and always happy to say hello, not even minding being bounced on by Bingo though she is far more interested in the other dogs handler and happily barges past the dog to say hello to their human!

Due to her enthusiasm, and tendency to jump up when excited, Courtney may be better suited to a home without small children, as she could accidentally knock them over in her eagerness to say hello.

We will be looking for an active home, she does have an abundance of energy and would love to fill her days with adventures, time in the garden and cuddles with her new family.. we certainly think she would be up for camping and hiking trips!

Courtney is a cheerful, affectionate girl who just wants to be everyone’s friend. With some consistent training, structure, and plenty of patience, she will blossom into a wonderful companion.
