Ideal Home

Our absolutely GORGEOUS Mastiff X boy MINTY is just about ready to find himself his very own home.. he's done with kennels and wants to show his incredibly soppy side (his tough exterior would have you believe otherwise)

Minty is around 18 months old and has come into us through no fault of his own however his history is sketchy so we have taken plenty of time to get to know him, full details will be given to those interested in rehoming him.

Before coming to us Minty had to have an operation on his eye as he had cherry eye, bless him. We're hoping he will be signed off by the vet next week *FINGERS CROSSED* but then he has to go in for his gentleman's operation (we haven't told him yet.. shh!!)

The more we have got to know Minty the more we absolutely adore him, he is a cuddly gentle giant but he does forget how big he is when he stands on his hind legs for a hug nearly pushing you over, thankfully he does listen to what he is told so when you tell him off he does but he may be best with a home with no small children as he would tower over them on four legs, never mind two!

On the lead he does actually walk very well for a big dog, there are a few times his size and strength does come out such as when he sees someone he knows or he leans for a sniff inadvertently taking you with him so he will benefit from a handler physically capable of holding him but generally he is easy to get back and most of the time strolls quite happily right by your side with a loose lead.

Minty does have a good level of obedience he knows 'sit', he can give both paws however his 'wait' only last for a few seconds especially where a tasty treat is involved... but food is a way to his heart!!

In the playpen he is much more of a moocher, sniffing around and occasionally breaking out of a walk into a trot if he knows your knelt down waiting for a cuddle! He has started showing interest in toys though somewhat short lived so his new family will have to continue showing him how fun toys can be.

We have found him to be quite good with other dogs, we haven't had him off lead with any because we've not had any to match him but he's met lots of dogs since being here and not put a paw out of place... though if we are being honest with what we know of his history we think he would much prefer to be an only dog and be waited on hand and paw treated like the king he is.

If you have a sofa big enough for this 53kg dopey goofball and don't mind dribbly shoe strings then please email us for an application - [email protected]
