Please meet gorgeous Roxi, a lovely little lady who has come into our care to find the forever home she so deserves.  She flew through her initial assessment and we have now welcomed her into the FDR family!

Roxi came to us after her previous owners were faced with the heartbreaking decision to rehome her. They had only recently taken her on and following an initially successful meeting between her and their resident dog, they tried everything they could to help the two dogs live happily together. Sadly, it became increasingly clear that there were significant problems within the home environment  with their behaviour escalating and the two dogs simply not being able to live together successfully

It was an incredibly difficult decision for her owners, who were devastated to have to give her up. They couldn't speak highly enough of her telling us she was a lovely, well-behaved and incredibly affectionate girl. Had it not been for the problems between the two dogs, Roxi wouldn't have been going anywhere. Ultimately, finding her a new home was the best decision for everyone involved but we have now got to know her and know what type of home she needs.

Roxi is a dream to walk on the lead. The only time you'll really know she's attached to you is when she stops to investigate something interesting – and there are plenty of those! Roxi is absolutely all about the sniffs. apparently for her sniffs are life, even in the playpen, she'd much rather be busy investigating all the interesting smells than doing anything else. That said, she can certainly be tempted by a squeaky toy and is always partial to a good bum rub!

 Roxi loves everyone and will happily put her paws up on your knee for cuddles – and honestly, she's not fussy about whose knee it is! She loves to give kisses too, whether that's on your face, your hands or even your ankles. Roxi doesn't discriminate; she simply wants to share the love!

We are looking for a family where Roxi will be the only dog. She isn't reactive at all when out walking and has happily said a few brief hellos to other dogs while she's been with us. However, she's not particularly interested in prolonged interaction and is much less comfortable with dogs in confined environments, such as the home. For this reason, we are only considering applications where she will be the only pet in the home.

Despite her age, Roxi is still a reasonably active girl. She's not going to be joining you on a trek up Snowdon, but she will certainly need more than a quick amble around the block.

Above all, Roxi is a gorgeous, affectionate little girl who just needs the right home. A home where she can settle, feel secure and finally enjoy life to the full.

We know her previous owners were heartbroken to say goodbye to her, but we hope that the next chapter of Roxi's story will be the one where she finds her forever family.
