Meet our gorgeous smush face Steve who found himself in the stray pound after being abandoned by his owner, bless him!

When Steve first arrived he wasn't sure what to make of everything, the new kennels and us but thankfully his confidence has come on in leaps and bounds, once he knows you and he's introduced gently he is THE most loving, affectionate and sweet boy you could ever wish for. After a fuss and kiss on your face his default is to roll on his back for you to do his tummy.

As you might be able to tell from the photos Steve's front left leg isn't exactly normal and he can't walk on it correctly but he has seen a vet and gone in for x-rays, sadly though at the moment there is no straight forward outcome. The x-rays showed that there is previous trauma to the leg, not only are there bone fragments but the joint isn't sat where it should be and is causing some arthritis - poor poor boy! So he's been sent home with pain relief to keep him comfortable whilst we await to hear from an orthopedic specialist to see what the advice is for him - so please everyone keep your fingers crossed!

Steve walks really well on the lead, he does have a good level of obedience such as knowing his basic commands, he does seem good with other dogs however given the state of his leg and potential surgeries he may need we will be looking for a dog free home, he is pretty relaxed in his kennel and just an overall lovely boy who deserves every chance he can get with going through so much already and only being 1 year old.

We will be looking for a home with no young children (due to no history, being a bit shy at times and due to his leg scenario), one who will take things gently with him as he will need time meeting new people, one who lives locally enough to one of our vets (Severn Edge) for any treatment he may need and one to love him as much as we do!!
